The Swedish Museum of Architecture is a centre for architecture, interiors, and industrial design. In 2012 the museum turns 50 and we want to celebrate by presenting an exhibition of a widely renowned and revered complete work of art: Stockholm City Hall.
In the exhibition Under Verket (Uncovered) we get a glimpse inside a treasure chest of objects from the Swedish museum of Architecture and City Hall’s collections that have never before been exhibited.
Visitors will meet the City Hall’s creator, Ragnar Östberg, as well as Carl Malmsten, Gunnar Asplund, Maja Sjöström, and others who contributed to the realization of this complete work of art—a place where architecture, interiors, and industrial design come together to form an integrated whole. The exhibition also illuminates the significance of iconic buildings today. What does City Hall stand for as a symbol, and would it be possible to build such a building today?
Families with children are invited to go on an adventure of discovery through the exhibition.

Sunday at 2:00 PM starting December 11, 2011.
